The Holy Spirit in the Church
Lord and giver of life, sanctifying the Body of Christ.
The Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son (Filioque in the Latin tradition) and is adored with them. He animates the Church, inspires Scripture, and seals the sacraments.
Gifts and fruits
Wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, fear of the Lord build the Christian life. Fruits like charity, joy, and peace manifest his presence.
Charisms
The Spirit distributes charisms for the common good—not all are extraordinary; all must be tested and ordered to ecclesial unity.
Temple of the Spirit
Individuals and the whole Church are dwelling places of God. Moral life expresses the Spirit we have received in baptism and confirmation.
