A five-minute daily examen
Review the day with gratitude, truth, and a fresh start.
The examen, drawn from Ignatian tradition, fits busy lives when shortened. It trains awareness of God’s presence and honest self-knowledge.
Gratitude
Name one or two concrete gifts from today—people, moments, small mercies. Thank God briefly.
Review
Scan from morning to now. Where did you live charity? Where did fear, pride, or distraction pull you off course? No spiral—just notice.
Forward
Ask for grace for tomorrow. Close with an Our Father or a single line of trust.
Try this week
- Pick the same five minutes daily (after dinner, before sleep, or lunch).
- Use a timer; when distracted, return without guilt.
- Once a week, note one pattern you see repeating.
