A Welsh martyr who gave his life for Christ during the Roman persecution, becoming Wales early Christian hero.
Aaron was martyred at Caerleon (ancient Isca) in Wales during the persecution under Diocletian, likely around 304. Tradition holds that he was a priest who refused to renounce his faith. Along with his companion Julius, he became one of the protomartyr saints of Wales, establishing the Welsh Christian tradition of courage under persecution.
