Abdon was a Persian prince who, with his friend Sennen, secretly practiced Christianity and buried martyred Christians. Under Emperor Decius (around 250), they were brought to Rome, refused to sacrifice to pagan gods, and were martyred in the amphitheater. Their bodies were rescued by Christians and properly buried.
