English Jesuit priest martyred during Elizabethan persecution for celebrating Mass and ministering.
Henry Walpole converted to Catholicism and became a Jesuit priest (1558-1595). He courageously returned to England during the persecution to minister to Catholics. Captured and tortured, he refused to renounce his faith. He was executed at York, becoming one of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales.
