Matthias served as Bishop of Jerusalem in the 2nd century during the post-apostolic period. He guided the Christian community through the transition from apostolic to patristic times. Known for his pastoral wisdom and connection to apostolic tradition. He helped establish the Jerusalem Church on solid foundations. He died peacefully, having preserved apostolic teaching.
