Frankish nobleman who abandoned court life to become a monk and founded Remiremont Abbey with Saint Amatus.
Romaric was a Frankish Count Palatine (died 653) who lost his parents to Queen Brunhilda political violence. After experiencing a religious conversion through Saint Amatus of Grenoble, he left court life to become a monk. He founded Remiremont Abbey with Amatus, creating a double monastery for men and women.
