Fourth-century bishop who served the Church in Gaul during the early Christian period.
Valerianus served as bishop of Auxerre in the 4th century during the establishment of Christianity in Gaul. He worked to build up the Christian community and establish church traditions. Known for his pastoral care and missionary zeal. He helped convert many pagans to Christianity through his preaching and example. He died peacefully after faithful episcopal service.
