A humble peasant girl from Mallorca who became a mystic and the island first native saint.
Catalina Thomás (1531-1574) was born to poor farmers in Valldemossa, Mallorca. Despite her humble origins, she experienced mystical visions from childhood and became an Augustinian nun. She lived a life of extreme penance, prayer, and service to the poor. Known for her humility and miraculous healings, she became the first native saint of the Balearic Islands. Her life shows how God calls the humble to great holiness.
