Dominic of Sora (951-1031) was an Italian Benedictine monk who left his monastery to live as a hermit in the Apennine mountains. He founded several small monasteries and hermitages, promoting contemplative life and monastic reform. Known for his holiness and miracles, he attracted many followers who sought his spiritual direction. He spent his final years at Sora, where he died in reputation of great sanctity. His life represents the balance between solitary prayer and community leadership.
