Ignaty Markov served as a Russian Orthodox priest during the Soviet era (1880-1940). He continued his priestly duties despite increasing persecution under Stalin regime. Arrested for conducting religious services, he was sentenced to death. He died as a New Martyr, faithful to his calling until the end.
