Fourth-century bishop who courageously defended orthodox teaching during the Arian controversy.
Lucius served as bishop of Hadrianopolis during the 4th century Arian crisis. He stood firmly for orthodox Trinitarian doctrine against Arian teaching that denied Christ divinity. Despite persecution and pressure from Arian emperors, he refused to compromise. His steadfast witness helped preserve orthodox faith. He died peacefully, having defended the truth.
