Apostolic Age (1st century)
Feast: June 29 (with St. Paul)
The fisherman who denied Christ, was restored, and shepherded the early Church from weakness made strong.
Simon Peter was called by Jesus, walked on stormy water briefly, and confessed him as Messiah. After denying Jesus, he was forgiven and commissioned to feed the sheep. Tradition places his martyrdom in Rome. His letters and life model leadership after failure.
