A Third Order Dominican who loved beauty yet chose hidden penance and service in Lima.
Isabel Flores de Oliva (1586–1617), called Rose, wanted to be a nun but cared for her family at home. She slept little, worked to support them, and cultivated intense love for Christ crucified. She is the first canonized saint of the Americas.
