Sixth-century bishop who served the Church in Gaul during the post-Roman transition period.
Stephen served as bishop of Lyon in the 6th century during the transition from Roman to Frankish rule (died 512). He provided stable leadership during political upheaval and helped maintain Christian traditions. Known for his pastoral care and diplomatic skills. He worked to preserve church unity during difficult times. He died peacefully after faithful episcopal service.
