Theophilus of Corte was a Corsican Franciscan (1676-1740) renowned for his mystical prayer life and miraculous healings. Born into a wealthy family, he renounced worldly goods to join the Reformed Franciscans. He experienced visions of Christ and the Virgin Mary, and his intercession brought about numerous cures of the sick.
