Feast: February 12
Third-century martyr who died courageously during Roman persecution for his Christian faith.
Thyrsus was a 3rd-century Christian martyr from Apollonia (died 251). During the persecution under Emperor Decius, he was arrested for his faith. Despite torture and pressure to sacrifice to pagan gods, he remained steadfast. He endured his suffering with remarkable patience and joy. He was executed for his refusal to deny Christ, becoming a witness to Christian courage.
